Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk

1. Nature of the Activity
Running Tours LPGC organises guided running tours in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Participation involves outdoor physical activity in an urban and natural environment, with inherent risks including uneven terrain, urban traffic, weather conditions, dehydration, and musculoskeletal injuries.
2. Assumption of Risk
The participant voluntarily acknowledges and accepts the inherent risks of running in urban and natural environments, including but not limited to: falls, muscle injuries, sprains, heat stroke, dehydration, and adverse weather conditions. These risks are inherent to any outdoor physical activity and cannot be completely eliminated.
3. Physical Fitness Declaration
The participant declares to be in adequate physical condition to undertake the activity. It is recommended to consult a medical professional if any pre-existing conditions exist (cardiovascular, respiratory, joint-related or other). Recommended minimum age: 16 years (participants under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian).
4. Medical Conditions
The participant commits to informing the guide of any relevant medical condition (allergies, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, recent injuries, medication that may affect physical performance) BEFORE the start of the activity.
5. Guide Instructions
The participant commits to following the guide's safety instructions at all times. The guide reserves the right to modify, shorten, or cancel the route if conditions require it (safety, weather, participant condition).
6. Insurance Coverage
Running Tours LPGC holds civil liability insurance (minimum coverage: €600,000 per incident) and accident/assistance insurance (search, rescue, transport, accidental death, permanent disability, and medical expenses) in accordance with Decreto 226/2017 of the Canary Islands Government regulating active tourism.
7. Limitation of Liability
Running Tours LPGC shall not be liable for injuries or damages arising from failure to follow the guide's instructions, concealment of relevant medical conditions, or the inherent risks of the physical activity that the participant has voluntarily accepted. This waiver does not limit liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
8. Use of Image
Photographs and videos may be taken during the activity for promotional purposes. The participant consents to their use on social media and the Running Tours LPGC website. If you do not wish to appear, please inform the guide before the start of the activity.
9. Data Protection
Personal data collected is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6.1.b GDPR). Privacy Policy
10. Governing Law
This waiver is governed by Spanish law. Valid as an electronic consent document in accordance with Ley 59/2003 on electronic signatures. By participating in the activity, the participant declares to have read, understood, and fully accepted this document.
